Even in the aftermath of Hurricane Ike, this made me laugh!
crazy. I had not seen this blog until today but the day after this was posted I did a “#ike #ike baby” tweet on twitter, so it probably looks like I copied the idea, but such is not the case. I guess great eccentric minds think alike :P I don’t think I’ve yet met Jaime and Kelly but I’m impressed that they wrote an entire song lyric especially in the face of impending doom :) I imagine they must have been pretty inspired, helplessly watching Ike skirt across the gulf, the winds kicking up, the sky growing clowdy, something like when Francis Scott Key peered through the clearing smoke of battle of Baltimore and saw the American Flag was still waving and he was inspired to write the Star Spangled Banner. Not comparing “Ike Ike Baby” to the Star Spangled Banner, but who knows? Maybe they’ll get a high school, a bridge or a submarine named after them! :) Kudos for creativity!
Someone sent this to me on an email and I had to post it. It’s a great parody, and I would have loved someone to try and record it. It would have been great on YouTube!
