#best09: and i don’t even drink coffee

{December 11 The best place. A coffee shop? A pub? A retreat center? A cubicle? A nook?}

Another easy one. I’d be hard pressed to find a place in Houston better than Coffee Groundz.What this coffee shop has done for Houston’s technology community is immeasurable. Hosting event after event, and consistently being the meeting place for business or play, this Midtown spot has impacted a city like no place I’ve seen, maybe Fitzgerald’s aside. :-)

Here’s the thing: I don’t drink coffee. At all. I’m a Diet Coke gal. And to think that the first place that comes to mind is a coffee shop? Of course, due in part, or in WHOLE, to the amazing JR Cohen, who has single-handedly created a community around this magical place.

Coffee Groundz, and JR, have made my favorite city even more rad. And that’s not easy to do. Keep it up, yo.
